Fuel Switching - Funding

Fuel switching

Fuel switching relates to the changing of the primary heating fuel of your home. The primary heating fuel is the fuel which is used to heat your main living area such as your lounge or living room. For example if your house has a gas fire in the living area and electric storage heaters in the bedrooms it would be considered a gas heated home. If the living area has a focal point fire of any fuel and electric storage heaters it would be considered an electrically heated home. If your primary heating fuel is either electric or coal and you are changing to more carbon friendly gas or oil alternative this is considered to be a fuel switch and you will be entitled to grant funding.

Grant funding available for fuel switching is determined by both your existing heating and the heating type which you have installed. The standard level of funding applies to all privately owned domestic properties and the higher level of funding is available to those customers who are aged 70 or above or in receipt of one of the defined benefits listed on the A1 website.

Please see the table below to see what funding is available and if you have any queries or require a quotation to install a new boiler/ heating system please contact us.

152.jpg   155.jpg   We have just completed a full plumbing and heating re fit at Beckworth Emporium garden center in Sywell, Northamptonshire. The new owners of the center asked us to design and install a heating and hot water system to supply all staff areas and provide a hot water system to meet the demand of the busy commercial kitchen.

In the staff area we installed a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 24 I condensing system boiler which supplied a number of Stelrad Softline radiators. For the hot water we installed a Heatrae Sadia Megaflow pressurised hot water cylinder which provided excelent pressure for the showers all controlled using Honeywell intelegent controlls.

For the resturant kitchen we had to ensure lack of hot water was never a problem so we specified a Andrews Ecoflo condensing gas water heater (pictured above) which not only provided all the hot water required but as it is a condensing model achieved low running costs.

The center now has a system to rely on for many years to come and we have recieved very positive feed back from our client.

We have just completed a major refirbishment of a house in Thorpe Langton, which involved the removal of the existing system and the instalation of a new Worcester Bosch Greenstar 40 CDI Conventional Condensing boiler piped up to 27 Stelrad Softline radiators. For hot water we installed a 300 Ltr Heatrae Sadia Megaflow pressurised cylinder which supplied 4 bathrooms of which we also installed.

The system was designed by Graham Gambles and the work was carried out by Graham, Lee, Sean, Nick and James and we are already recieving very positive feed back from the client on the performance of the system.
