A small amount is not harmful, however, should the boiler over-produce carbon monoxide it can become fatal to those around it. An annual service will help ensure your boiler and central heating system remains safe and carbon efficient.

An annual service helps to maintain the energy efficiency of your oil fired boiler. Oil nozzles can become blocked, reducing the heat-to-oil ratio, meaning your boiler will become increasingly inefficient and more expensive to run.
Photocells detect whether the flame is lit so they’re a very important safety feature. Soot produced by the boiler can make the photocells dirty over time, meaning they might not be able to monitor the flame correctly. This can cause your boiler to switch on and off frequently, making it far less efficient.
Carbon monoxide is a by-product of an oil fired boiler and can be fatal if your boiler is over-producing it. And don’t forget the tank… Engineers have to be OFTEC qualified to install and register the oil tank – this is a legal requirement if you were to sell your home.
