Gas boilers lose efficiency over time, but an annual service can prevent a serious loss, saving you money. Carbon monoxide is a by-product of gas boilers. A small amount is not harmful, however, should the boiler over-produce carbon monoxide it can become fatal to those around it. An annual service will help ensure your boiler and central heating system remains safe and carbon efficient.

An annual service helps to maintain the energy efficiency of your oil fired boiler. Oil nozzles can become blocked, reducing the heat-to-oil ratio, meaning your boiler will become increasingly inefficient and more expensive to run.
Photocells detect whether the flame is lit so they’re a very important safety feature. Soot produced by the boiler can make the photocells dirty over time, meaning they might not be able to monitor the flame correctly. This can cause your boiler to switch on and off frequently, making it far less efficient.
Carbon monoxide is a by-product of an oil fired boiler and can be fatal if your boiler is over-producing it. And don’t forget the tank… Engineers have to be OFTEC qualified to install and register the oil tank – this is a legal requirement if you were to sell your home.
We also check the base and tank supports to ensure stability and safety. We’ll also inspect potential fire hazards with the tank, which is extremely important for the safety of your home and neighbouring households.

We’ve been having issues with our heating for months – we installed a NEST smart thermostat to rule out anything electrical – the problem was still there – we were not convinced that we were being given the right information and analysis so we rang Lewington’s, they came round within a few days (it wasn’t urgent or I’m sure they would have come sooner). Callum came to call us, he was very conscientious upon entering…
