A small amount is not harmful, however, should the boiler over-produce carbon monoxide it can become fatal to those around it. Oil Boiler Service
An annual service helps to maintain the energy efficiency of your oil fired boiler. Oil nozzles can become blocked, reducing the heat-to-oil ratio, meaning your boiler will become increasingly inefficient and more expensive to run.
Photocells detect whether the flame is lit so they’re a very important safety feature. Soot produced by the boiler can make the photocells dirty over time, meaning they might not be able to monitor the flame correctly. This can cause your boiler to switch on and off frequently, making it far less efficient.
Carbon monoxide is a by-product of an oil fired boiler and can be fatal if your boiler is over-producing it. And don’t forget the tank… Engineers have to be OFTEC qualified to install and register the oil tank – this is a legal requirement if you were to sell your home.
We also check the base and tank supports to ensure stability and safety. We’ll also inspect potential fire hazards with the tank, which is extremely important for the safety of your home and neighbouring households.

Superb service in the cold
My oil boiler stopped working in mid November. Lewingtons came out promptly and began systematically to work out what had happened. This included digging up concrete by the oil tank to put in a new oil filter. With that done the boiler’s oil pump could be replaced and the boiler made to work again. GAS FIRE REPAIRS
A good job. It was a complicated gas fire repair because we had no paper work. Identifying the product was more difficult than doing the repair. The repair was carried out and the fire now works as it was intended.
