Reduce your carbon footprint and energy bills with renewable energy
At Lewington Heating, we’ve been installing renewable energy heating systems since we first launched our Lewington Renewable division in 2000. The installation of air source and ground source heat pumps (for which we won a Worcester Bosch Environment 2020 award) is our primary focus.
Using renewable heating systems can reduce your energy bills while protecting the environment, you can even get money back from the government for installing these sustainable heating technologies. In our opinion, it’s win-win!
“We’re really proud to be endorsed by Which as being a Trusted Trader. To become one of only a select few within our area is testament to our commitment to providing a friendly, efficient, and cost-effective service to the homes within the Leicestershire area.”
At Lewington Heating we offer a wide range of renewable heating solutions that reduce your impact on the environment, and harnessing a free energy source can offer substantial savings.
We install heating systems from the three main renewable sources – Air Source heat pumps, Ground Source heat pumps and Solar Thermal panels. Alongside these renewables, we also fit wet underfloor heating – a more efficient alternative to a radiator system.
Renewable Case Studies
Why not use the outside air to heat your home? Even in freezing cold winters (as low as -15°C), an air source heat pump can extract heat from the air to heat your home and hot water.
Using a renewable source and a heat pump can reduce your heating costs. The savings will depend on where you live, the size of your house and the fuel you are replacing. Heat pumps can halve your home’s carbon emissions as there is no combustion process involved, which is much kinder to the environment.
Ground source heat pumps can heat your home using pipes buried in the ground to extract natural heat and provide heat and hot water all year round.
The benefits don’t stop there. Heat pumps can save you money on your heating bills by harnessing free energy. It’s also environmentally friendly, producing lower carbon emissions than traditional heating systems.
At Lewington Heating we install hydronic underfloor heating systems, more commonly known as wet UFH. Water pipes are installed under the floor, circulating warm water from your boiler around the room.
This hidden, low-maintenance heating solution uses less energy than a radiator system, as it requires a lower water temperature. In fact, wet UFH can be up to 25% more efficient than a radiator, saving you money and helping the environment at the same time.
Solar water heating solutions, also called solar thermal technology, use panels on your roof to collect the heat from the sun to heat your water.
Solar thermal can be used alongside a regular immersion heater or boiler, which will kick in when your solar supply runs out. The more water you can heat in this way, the less money you’ll spend on heating bills.
The UK Government offers a variety of grants and financial incentives to encourage UK homes to swap to renewable heating systems.
